Dev Pratim Das – Weapon Specialist, Author, and Researcher
Dev Pratim Das is a weapon specialist, author, and research writer with over eight years of experience in firearms technology. His expertise spans small arms engineering, ballistics, and weapon mechanics, making him a recognized authority in the field.
He completed his B.Sc in Film Technology from SRM University in 2015 but pursued his passion for firearms technology under the guidance of his father, PK Das (Ex-IOFS). From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a guest lecturer at the Ordnance Factory Institute of Learning (OFIL), training CRPF and State Police personnel in firearms handling and mechanics.
As an author, Dev wrote "Science and Engineering of Small Arms" (2021), published by Taylor & Francis, which explores the physics and mechanics of firearms. He is also a blog and research writer, covering advancements in small arms design, ballistics, and military technology.
Dev continues to research, write, and educate with the goal of becoming a leading authority in small arms technology, bridging the gap between history and modern innovations.
